Production:
Dr Pepper is owned by the Dr Pepper Snapple Group. They own many well known drinks including Hawaiian punch, A & W, ICB, and Country Time. The recipe to Dr Pepper is a close kept secret, and the ingredients that are not secret are in almost every soft drink on the market. These ingredients include carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, phosphoric acid, sodium benzoate, and caffeine.
As of right now, Dr pepper is bottled by the Dr Pepper Snapple Group and under contract by third party companies, such as Coca-Cola and Pepsi. This is because the Dr Pepper Snapple Group does not have a complete network of bottlers and distributors. The Dr Pepper Snapple Group has 21 manufacturing and bottling plants in North America, 19 of them being in the United States, and 2 being in Mexico. |
Distribution:
According to the Dr Pepper Snapple Group's official web page, "Nearly half of DPS' annual volume is distributed through our company-owned bottling and distribution network. The remainder is driven through third-party/licensed bottlers and distributors, including those in both the Coca-Cola and Pepsi bottling systems". Dr Pepper used to be heavily distributed by Coke and Pepsi, but now the Dr Pepper Snapple Group is almost entirely independent in the distribution of their products, including, of course, Dr Pepper. The Dr Pepper Snapple Group has over 115 distributing centers to ship their product all over the world.

Sales and Revenue
According to the Dr Pepper Snapple Group's website, they made $6 billion dollars in net sales in 2013. They made 88% ($5.28 billion) of these sales from the U.S, 4% ($240 million) from Canada, and 8% ($480 million) from Mexico and the Caribbean. The Dr Pepper Snapple Group is rated the #1 carbonated soft drink company in the U.S, and about 83% of their volume is from drinks that are either #1 or #2 in their category. This means that most of the Dr Pepper Snapple Group's drinks are the best compared to other companies versions.
